District Newsletter

Our schools have always done a great job of sending out newsletters to communicate the happenings in their buildings. Now our school district will be doing the same. District 37 will be sending out a quarterly newsletter home to keep our families informed of wonderful things going on all around the district.  There are so many great programs, stories and initiatives happening and we want to share those with our community.

In this issue we have an update from the Strategic Planning Committee, news on several popular summer programs, and a popular new sport at Wells Elementary - Sport Stacking. There's also an article on how the District #37 Speech Pathologists are using some exciting new technology to provide services to our kids.

Strategic Planning

Dear East Moline Families:

Recently our Board of Education authorized a committee of community-minded individuals to undertake the process of creating a long-range strategic plan. The committee of district personnel and community leaders started this process back in April and finished their work in early September. We presented a three-year comprehensive plan to our Board of Education on September 26th and they voted unanimously to adopt the plan and authorize the administration to begin executing the plan.

This will be a living, breathing plan that we will continue toadapt in future years. We think it is extremely important that all of our families have access to what we are working toward and that is why we are putting the entire plan on our website. You can download a copy of the plan from the front page of our website.  Copies have also been placed in each of our school offices and the Administration Center for any family or community member requesting a copy. Click here to download that plan.

Yours for kids,

Kristin Humphries
Superintendent
