ITBS
  • September 15, 2008 – June 30, 2008
  • All students Grades 1 – 8 as needed for program placement. Please contact LaVonne Peterson to arrange for testing.

COGAT
  • September 15, 2008 – September 30, 2008 for all students in grades 2, 4, and 6
  • Students in Grades 1 - 8 as needed throughout the year. Please contact LaVonne Peterson to arrange for testing.

ACCESS
  • January 12 – January 30, 2009 – Listening, Reading, Writing (Grades 1 – 8)
  • January 12 – February 20, 2009 – Kindergarten/Speaking (Grades 1 – 8)

ISAT
  • March 2 – 13, 2009 (Grades 3 – 8)

Illinois Writing Assessment – ISAT Writing
  • Spring 2009: Grades 3, 5, 6, 8

District Kindergarten Expectations
  • Once per semester
  • Kindergarten only

Scott Foresman Reading Street Unit Tests
  • Minimum 1/qtr administered at the end of each unit in sequence
  • Grades 1 - 5

Fountas and Pinnell
  • 1st grade: All students September, January, April
  • Grades 2 – 4: All students in September and April; at risk students only in January

DRA-2
  • Grade 5: Tier 2 students as needed


DIBELS
  • Grades K and 1: All students September, January, April


Orleans Hanna Algebra Prognosis Test
  • Spring 7th Grade Pre-Alg and selected students.



Local Assessments

Name: District Kindergarten Expectations
Administration: Once per semester by kindergarten teachers to their students.
Purpose: To determine student progress on meeting sixteen academic expectations for being promoted to first grade.
Reports Go To: Teachers, Principals and Parents



Name: Scott Foresman Reading Street Unit Tests & Guided Reading Level
Administration: Reading Street Unit Tests are administered at the end of each unit in sequence, minimum 1 per quarter in grades 1 - 4.
Purpose: To assist classroom teachers in monitoring the reading comprehension and fluency of students.

Name: Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessment
Administration: Grade 1: September, January, and April for all students
Grades 2 – 4: September and April for all students; at-risk students only in January
Purpose: To determine Guided Reading Level and assist classroom teachers in monitoring the reading comprehension and fluency of students.
Reports Go To: Teachers and Principals



Name: DIBELS Benchmark Assessment
Administration: September, January, April all students in grades K and 1
Purpose: To assist classroom teachers in monitoring reading comprehension and fluency of students for the purpose of adjusting instruction and planning intervention groups in a Response to Intervention model.

Name: DRA-2 Benchmark Assessment
Administration: September, January, April for Tier 2 students as needed in Grade 5. Administered by the Reading Specialist
Purpose: To assist classroom teachers in monitoring reading comprehension and fluency of students for the purpose of adjusting instruction and planning intervention groups in a Response to Intervention model.

Name: Orleans Hanna Algebra Prognosis Test
Administration: To 7th grade pre-algebra and selected mainstream students in the spring.
Purpose: To assist in determining students readiness for algebra.

Name: Iowa Test of Basic Skills
Administration: September 15, 2008 – June 30, 2008
All students Grades 1 – 8 as needed for program placement
Purpose: To assist teachers in diagnosing students' strengths and weaknesses for the purpose of guiding instruction. It is also used to assist in the identification of students for special programming.

Name: Cognitive Abilities Test - COGAT
Administration: September 15, 2008 – September 30, 2008 All students grades 2, 4 and 6. Students in all grades as needed throughout the year.
Purpose: To predict student achievement and assist with the identification of students for gifted education.

Name: ACCESS Test
Administration: January 14 – February 22, 2008
For reading, listening and writing (Grades 1 – 8): January 14 – February 1, 2008
For all kindergarten and speaking(1 – 8): January 14 – February 22, 2008
Purpose: To determine student placement and progress in English language acquisition (reading, writing, listening and speaking).

Name: Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT)
Administration: March 3 – 14, 2008 (Grades 3 – 8)
Purpose: To determine student progress in meeting state standards in reading, mathematics, and science. Reading and math scores are used as a basis for establishing Adequate Yearly Progress as required by NCLB.

Name: Illinois Writing Assessment
Administration: Spring 2009 All eligible students Grades 3, 5, 6, & 8
Purpose: To determine student progress in meeting state standards in writing.
