Alex Mayszak appointed new principal of Ridgewood Elementary School

The East Moline School District 37 Board of Education has voted unanimously to approve the appointment of Alex Mayszak as the new principal of Ridgewood Elementary School in East Moline, IL. Alex is currently the administrative intern at Bowlesburg Elementary and previously taught at both Glenview Middle School and United Township High School in East Moline.
Alex was chosen by a group of stakeholders representing Ridgewood Elementary. They noted his knowledge of student-centered learning environments and his ability to bring adults together to support children in the classroom. “Alex will continue the Ridgewood tradition of supporting each child to help them reach their full potential,” said Dr. Humphries. “Alex believes strongly in collaboration and will bring teachers, students and our families together to drive continuous improvement at Ridgewood Elementary.”

“I am excited to join the team at Ridgewood as the next instructional leader and am passionate about the success of our students in East Moline. The teachers and staff at Ridgewood are committed to building a strong educational foundation and helping students develop a lifelong love for learning,” said Mr. Mayszak.  

Alex is originally from Naperville, Illinois and graduated from Naperville Central in 2009. He graduated from Augustana College with a Bachelor of Arts in 2013 and Western Illinois University with a Master of Science in 2017. Alex will assume his leadership role at Ridgewood Elementary School in July 2019.
