East Moline School District families,

As you know, Governor Pritzker previously closed all school buildings until April 8th. This afternoon, the Governor announced he is extending that order until April 30th. This means that all Illinois school buildings are closed until at least April 30th. However, that does not mean learning is canceled. Schools across Illinois have been asked to provide remote learning opportunities for our students. While we work to create these new remote learning opportunities, we will continue to focus on 3 key areas for our students and families:

  • Ensuring our students have access to breakfast and lunch while we are out of school
  • Providing a continuity of learning for our students through the Extended Learning Kits or online
  • Clear communication to keep our families informed

We will soon have more information for all of our families on changes coming to our remote learning opportunities. We appreciate your patience as we work to serve your children and our community. In the meantime, please continue to stay safe and practice social distancing. The sooner we put this behind us, the sooner we can get back to teaching and learning, in school.

Yours for kids,

Dr. Kristin Humphries, Superintendent of Schools
