
12-1-23 Announcements
-The 7th grade boys team had a solid all around game last evening. Offensively they were knocking down 3's and Defensively they held their opponent to only 4 points in the 2nd half!! Great Job! Halfway through the season the team has record of 5 wins and 2 losses.
-If you are interested in potentially being chosen to participate in the virtual author visit with Kwame Alexander and Judy Blume on December 6th, please speak with your ELA teacher, or fill out the form on the library homepage. Not only will you get to hear the authors speak, but there will be a book give away at the end. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Newton.

-Please excuse the 5th grade violinists today, Thursday at 1:30pm and have them bring ALL their "stuff" with them as they will be dismissed from the band room. These students will get to learn from a professional violinist from the Quad City Symphony Orchestra!
-Attention One By One members....it's not too late to join College BINGO!! Pick up a card in the library today. Games ends on Friday, December 8th.
-Latinx Workshop meets every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. Our next meeting is December 13th. 7th and 8th graders looking for a positive circle of hermanas are invited to join! We center the Latina voice, history, and culture. Speak with Mrs. Mojica for more details.

-Attention all 6th through 8th grade violins: on Thursday be ready to play by 2:35pm for your sectional with the professional violinist.
-Last evening the 7th grade boys performed well as a team, winning by nearly 40 points against Edison. All 10 players recorded a positive Statistic!!! Amazing teamwork Gentlemen!! We have a road game on Thursday and the team hopes to see even better ball movement and even better defensive rotations moving forward!!! Go Gators!!

-Foster’s Voice meets tomorrow. Students, it is not too late to sign up for this club that’s all about staying mentally healthy. Please see Mrs. Gonzalez or Ms. Ponce for more information.

-Wrestling practice starts today after school. You must have a current physical on file to participate.

REMINDER:
• Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 21st is an early dismissal day. Glenview will dismiss at 10:55 am, elementary schools will dismiss at 11:30 am.
• November 22-26 is Thanksgiving Break.
• School resumes on Monday, November 27th.

11-17-23 Announcements
-The 7th grade boys played well against a physical Washington team. Although the game ended in a loss, the team learned that we can handle pressure defense and we must control the tempo of the game!
-One By One college BINGO kicks off next week! Which staff member attended a private college? Who balanced work and studying? You'll soon find out! Members who need to pick up a card may do so in the library.
-Latinx Workshop invites all their members to Saturday's event in the school library. Snacks, a selfie station, door prizes, a positive circle of area Latina leaders.... we'll have it all!! Drop off and pick up will be at the back doors of our school. Speak with Mrs. Mojica if you have any questions.
-Anyone interested in signing up for Glenview wrestling should sign up today at lunch or Monday. Practice will start on the 27th in the East Gym. You must have a current physical on file to participate.

-One By One meets today after school in the library. We're talking state and private universities, Ivy League, HBCUs and HSIs! Members who attend will also receive a College BINGO playing card for a chance to win prizes. Don't miss out.

-The 7th grade boys Lost a tough matchup to Wilson last night, 32 to 27. They rebounded well, considering the height of the Wilsons' Front Court!
-8th grade boys basketball won 45 to 33. Shoutout to the team for handling adversity on a tough road game. Shoutout to Jaybon for being a dog and Jeremiah for icing the game in the clutch. Great job guys!
