Our students had a fantastic day yesterday during our annual Pumpkin Run races. The winners are listed below. We've got some athletic Hornets at Hillcrest. A huge thank you to Aaron Fisher and his family farm for donating pumpkins to our school family this year. Congratulations to Kira, a fourth grade student for winning the overall school race.

Congratulations to Ms. Blair, our ROE Staff Member of the Month! Ms. Blair has a strong connection to the East Moline School District. She puts her entire heart and soul into Hillcrest Elementary School. Ms. Blair has embraced the journey of Conscious Discipline, and she has implemented the strategies into her library classroom. Because of Ms. Blair's journey, she is positively impacting the lives of students daily, and it shows. Ms. Blair is a strong member of our SEL Committee, and she wants to ensure students receive support to become well-rounded citizens in our community. She is a valued member of our school family.
Congratulations to Mr. Garzon's 4th Grade Class on earning a COMPLIMENT Party. To celebrate, Mr. Garzon taught an art class for his students. Look at their beautiful work! Thank you for following our Hillcrest Commitments: Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Be Safe!
Our students enjoyed a visit from Downtown Charlie Brown during an assembly this week. These kindergarten students especially loved listening to the blues and jazz music. Thank you for sharing your love of music with us!
There was so much to celebrate at Hillcrest during 1st Quarter both with staff and students. Everyone is working hard in our school family. We are proud of the work we are doing! It’s go time, Hornets!

Congratulations, Mrs. Beale, for being our ROE Staff Member of the Month! Mrs. Beale has gone above and beyond to support students at Hillcrest in many different capacities. She supports the students in the SLC Room, students who are in evaluation, and the students on her caseload. Mrs. Beale always brings a positive growth mindset to the table, and she puts in the effort to ensure that all of the students' needs are being met. Not only does Mrs. Beale support students, but she supports her colleagues too. She is an expert in her field, and it is important that she knows how much her knowledge and expertise is valued and appreciated. Thank you for being YOU, Mrs. Beale! You are appreciated.
