Mrs. Shemek is our beloved science teacher at Hillcrest Elementary School. She goes above and beyond in her role. Not only does she have a growth mindset and fulfill her teaching practices in the highest respect, she steps up to ensure our school family is supported. Mrs. Shemek takes time out of her day to support second grade students. She gives them extra practice in their phonics instruction, and she is also providing an intervention to them. Mrs. Shemek did this work without prompting--she simply stepped up and did it when she noticed students struggling. Mrs. Shemek also is the first one to step up and take a double class to sub when we are short staffed. Mrs. Shemek is an asset to our school family, and we are thankful she is ours! Thank you for all you do, Mrs. Shemek. Your efforts do not go unnoticed.
