Hillcrest Families,
I am BLOWN away by the participation in our ST Math Week. As a school family, we earned over 147,000 minutes at Hillcrest alone. The district's goal was 50,000 minutes, and as a building we surpassed that goal. We solved over 57,000 math puzzles! It was a great week having a friendly competition amongst our school family. Our top 5 winners will be announced on Monday. These winners will earn a trip to John Deere Headquarters.
Thank you to John Deere. This week during our lunch hour, we had 5 or more volunteers come help our students solve puzzles. Without their help, we would not have surpassed our goal. To celebrate, John Deere is bringing tractors to Hillcrest for our students to explore. We earned more than enough minutes to "build our tractor". This is going to be an exciting day.
St Math was blown away by our students' progress this week. We had a FUN week filled with learning.
There are many great things happening at Hillcrest. As a principal, I am smiling ear to ear! I am proud to be leading your child's education.

Thank you for a successful BINGO night! We had roughly 150 families and volunteers join us for a fun event. Thank you to our community for donating raffle baskets. A huge thank you to the Hillcrest PTO for the support and generosity they show to our staff and students!

On Wednesday, all are invited to wear their pajamas to school. To celebrate our ST Math Challenge Week, we will have a whole school ST Math Party tomorrow. Lets get cozy and help Jiji complete her journey!

EMSD Reminder-
Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 5th, is an early dismissal day. Glenview will dismiss at 10:55am; elementary schools will dismiss at 11:30am.
Yesterday Hillcrest Elementary School kicked off our partnership with John Deere. This is a BIG deal and so EXCITING! John Deere is coming alongside the students and staff at Hillcrest Elementary School to provide experiences and support us alongside our educational journey. Next week, John Deere will be supporting our students on our ST Math Journey as we accomplish 12,500 ST Math minutes as a school family. When our students meet this goal, John Deere has surprises in store for our students. Families, get ready to participate next week....and if you see a John Deere worker, thank them for the work they are doing for your student!
Mrs. Richardson’s 2nd Grade students are fully engaged in creating codes during science today.
Parent Teacher Conferences are this Thursday evening and Friday morning. Glenview parents will schedule online; elementary/ELC parents, please contact your student's teacher for a conference time.
More information on how to participate in Math Week will be sent home with your students and in an email to parents.
