Wells Elementary School

What an incredible turnout at our Wells Family Fall Fest! With over 300 students, families, and friends joining the fun, this year’s event was truly one for the books. A celebration like this takes a village, and we are overflowing with gratitude for our dedicated staff who volunteered, generous community business partners, and wonderful families who donated their time, food, drinks, prizes, and materials to bring everything to life. We see you, we appreciate you, and we thank each of you from the bottom of our hearts for investing in our school community. Today is the End of 1st Quarter.

It’s Principal Appreciation Month! We asked Mrs. Anderson a few fun questions to give our community a peek into what makes her tick and what makes being a principal so special to her. Check out her answers below!

We are so grateful for the Quad City Botanical Center and the Plant Discovery Bus! Students at Wells enjoyed a hands-on learning experience all about plant care and planted their very own seeds. This interactive visit paired perfectly with our Grade K Creative Curriculum unit on seeds and planting. Every student brought home their own plant—be sure to ask your learner what they named theirs!

-Applicants must hold either a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL or ELS), an Illinois Substitute License (SUB), or a Short Term Substitute License (STS).
-Permanent building substitutes report to the same building every day, and fill in any open position as assigned.
-Permanent building subs work on all student attendance days.
-Pay rate is $135/day, and earnings are TRS reportable.
-5 paid sick days are offered in the first semester, and 5 paid sick days in the second semester.

EMSD REMINDER:
EMSD will be on FALL BREAK October 5th-9th. There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, October 12th, in observance of Columbus Day.

EMSD REMINDER
Tomorrow, Friday, September 18th, is an early dismissal day. Elementary schools will dismiss at 11:30 am, Glenview will dismiss at 10:55 am, and there is No School for the ELC.
