Hello Wells Kindergarten through 4th grade families. We will return to our in person blended learning this week. This week is our last week for the second quarter. If your student was attending in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays before we went full remote, we will see them Tuesday, January 12th. If your student was attending in person on Wednesdays and Fridays, we will see them on January 13th. One other important reminder is that the third quarter will begin January 19th. If you contacted the school to change how your child will attend school, these changes will begin the week of January 19th. Remember, to follow the health and safety guidelines please certify your student each day by checking their temperature and answering the questions on the golden ticket. Students need to have the golden ticket when they arrive daily with a parent signature. We look forward to seeing students back in the building.

This week featured in the Wildcat Spotlight is Mrs. West. Mrs. West is our social worker at Wells Elementary School. Mrs. West serves our families with her entire heart. She goes out of her way to ensure our students and their families have what they need to be successful. Mrs. West, we thank you for your service. We are proud to have you on our team. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to our students. Read below to learn a little bit about Mrs. West. What is your favorite thing about Wells? I love the population that attends Wells. The richness of different cultures, faiths, languages mixed with the courage/strength to leave all that is known to move to a new country/place that is often completely different from the place you might have known your whole life. I love people who do the best they can frequently with little resources. I love the kids who teach me every day which keeps my mind and heart open and flexible. The energy that feeds me are all people. What is your favorite children’s book? Make Way for Ducklings was a long time favorite until I discovered The Proudest Blue by Ibtihaj Muhammad. What do you do to relax? I watch too many crime shows, play the piano, try to teach myself different instruments (i.e. cello, guitar, and different recorders). I like to read, garden, bicycle, and learn. I used to run.
