This week in the Wells Spotlight is our speech pathologist, Mrs. McGuire. Mrs. McGuire has a positive attitude and a growth mindset. She celebrates every victory, even amongst big challenges. She goes out of her way to meet the needs of all of her students. Thank you, Mrs. McGuire for your service at Wells Elementary School. We are proud to have you on our team.
What is your favorite thing about Wells?
The TEACHERS. They show such love and grace to all their students.
What is your favorite children’s book?
The Gingerbread Man
What do you do to relax?
I spend time with family, or I read.

EMSD's food distribution will continue each Monday for any child age 18 and under. Even if your child does not attend school or goes to a different district, you can pick up meals for FREE. Just show up at one of the following locations to take advantage of this great program!


This week in the Wells Spotlight is one of our 4th grade teachers, Mrs. Neff.
Mrs. Neff loves her students- like really loves her students. She goes above and beyond to make sure that they all feel loved, supported, and included. When you walk into her classroom, there is a sense of belonging. Thank you, Mrs. Neff for all you do. Your dedication does not go unnoticed. Read below to learn a little bit about this 4th grade teacher.
What is your favorite thing about Wells?
My favorite thing about Wells is our awesome staff, especially my team! I couldn’t do this without them.
What is your favorite children’s book?
My favorite book is, The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg.
What do you do to relax?
I LOVE the beach. It is one of my most favorite places to be. However, since there is no beach per say in Illinois, I love lounging in my pool. I also LOVE to read!

The amazing teachers I get to work with!
What is your favorite children's book?
I love the Flat Stanley books by Jeff Brown and "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a..." books by Lucille Colandro.
What do you do to relax?
In the summer, I like to go on boat rides on our boat. I also like to be outside with the family and sit on our deck.

The East Moline Library is having a Book Walk. Families can come walk along and read the story "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." It's a free event with no sign up required. Masks and social distancing will be required.
