Our Book Blast event has just a few days left. If you haven’t, register your student and invite at least 10 friends and family: http://bookblast.booksarefun.com/HillcrestES61244
Already registered? We still need your help to get more books for our students. Inviting 2 more friends or family to this wonderful cause will help us reach our goal (use the link above).
Your participation also helps our teachers earn school supplies and books for their classrooms, and your student still has a chance to win a Treasure Chest stuffed with cash!
Thank you for showing our students they are supported by you, your friends, family, and our community!
Congratulations to Nora and London, our two other treasure chest winners! We have one more treasure chest to give away and an iPad!

Due to the rain, the multi-club event for Bowleburg KKids, Hillcrest KKids, Ridgewood KKids, and Glenview Builders Club pet scavenger hunt, scheduled for today, April 18, and Saturday, April 20, will be rescheduled for Thursday, May 2, and Saturday, May 4.

Congratulations to Khalid Gonzalez-Traore on winning the very first treasure chest full of cash today! Great job getting your ten contacts on your treasure map to help our students earn books for their home library.

Dear Families,
This year in order to update and refresh student devices, we will be collecting Chromebooks from all students currently enrolled in Kindergarten through 4th grade.
We will begin collection on Monday, May 13th and will be collecting the device, charger and stylus. Beginning on May 13th, to help with the collection, students will no longer be able to take the devices home. During the summer, the devices will be cleaned, refreshed, repaired as needed and updated. Please be sure to send the device itself and any accessories (charger, stylus) to school on May 13th.
If your child is attending any of the programming hosted by EMSD over the summer, each program will have a set of devices that students will use during that program. If your student will not be in the district next year, please give
this information to the teacher.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please contact us at 309-865-6946.

We are thrilled to announce our upcoming Book Blast Book Drive, where your child is at the heart of the mission – to get more books for your child's home library!
TONIGHT: Register your student and invite 10 or more friends and family to join us: http://bookblast.booksarefun.com/HillcrestES61244
HURRY: All students who register and send 10 or more invitations will earn all 3 prizes. The first 75 will receive prizes the next day, while the others will get theirs with the book delivery.
100% of these contributions will directly fund books for our students, enriching their lifelong love of reading. You can find more details in the attached Treasure Map.
Rest assured, all information you provide is kept 100% secure, and we never share it.
Let's work hand in hand to bring more books into our children's home libraries!
Thanks for your support!

Thank you, Mr. Lopez, for the great words of wisdom. Our Hornets are lucky to have you at Hillcrest.
Have a great weekend!

EMSD's last day of school this year will be Wednesday, May 29th.

Hillcrest students experienced the solar eclipse today! A special thanks to Rep Gregg Johnson and the Illinois Optometric Association, John Deere, Earth Works Landscaping, and the Hillcrest PTA who all sponsored the special glasses for our students so they could view the eclipse.

REMINDER:
-Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 9th is an early dismissal day. Elementary schools will dismiss at 11:30am, Glenview will dismiss at 10:55am.
-There is NO SCHOOL on Wednesday, April 10th.

Congratulations to our lunchroom and playground staff on a job well done. These individuals run a smooth cafeteria and lunch recess for our students. The playground monitors have done a fabulous job learning systems and routines. These individuals have built positive relationships with our students, and they help our students build conflict resolution skills while on the playground. Our playground aides have attended professional development (when they didn't have to) to learn how to better help our kids. We are lucky to have you as part of our Hillcrest school family.
