Congratulations to Mrs. Misner for being nominated as the April Staff Member of the Month. Mrs. Misner has had many changes to her schedule this year, and she has taken it with grace. She has been flexible to do what is best for students. Mrs. Misner is one of the most patient teachers, and she wants what is best for kids always! Mrs. Misner is so very creative and reflective as she plans intentional lessons for her students. Mrs. Misner, we thank you!
VIP Lunch— It’s a new tradition at Hillcrest. Teachers nominate two students out of their class, and those students get to have a special lunch with our staff. The students nominated follow our three B’s consistently: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe! We have many Hornets to celebrate at Hillcrest. Here are just a few photos from the past two weeks

Hillcrest kkids pet scavenger hunt scheduled for today has been postponed until next Thursday and Saturday May 9 and 11 due to the increased risk of inclement weather at the time of this event .
Hillcrest kkids is still cancelled for today as well.

Attention incoming Kindergarten families!!
Dear Families,
This year in order to update and refresh student devices, we will be collecting Chromebooks from all students currently enrolled in Kindergarten through 4th grade.
We will begin collection on Monday, May 13th and will be collecting the device, charger and stylus. Beginning on May 13th, to help with the collection, students will no longer be able to take the devices home. During the summer, the devices will be cleaned, refreshed, repaired as needed and updated. Please be sure to send the device itself and any accessories (charger, stylus) to school on May 13th.
If your child is attending any of the programming hosted by EMSD over the summer, each program will have a set of devices that students will use during that program. If your student will not be in the district next year, please give
this information to the teacher.

What does Hillcrest do on a rainy Friday?! The students participated in an art challenge during indoor recess. The challenge was to draw the most accurate picture of Mr. Lopez. The winner will be announced on Monday!
