Our first day at the IESA State Meet has come to an end. Our athletes showcased their determination and grit, making us proud of their performances. Abdoul Bako Traore put forth a gutsy effort in the 110m hurdles, finishing 23rd overall. Jordan Campbell jumped well in the long jump, finishing 6th overall with an impressive leap of 19’8”. David Omari claimed 3rd place in the long jump with a remarkable jump of 19’11”. Unfortunately, Dereon McDaniel faced some challenges in the high jump and did not clear the opening height. Overall, it was a fantastic day. We’re looking forward to more exciting performances tomorrow. Congratulations to our first ever IESA medal winners Jordan Campbell and David Omari! Go Gators! 💙🐊💛

Wondering more about the EMSD Forward Redistricting Plan for 2026-2027? We’ve updated our FAQ with answers to some of the most common questions we’ve received from staff and families. One question we've heard often: How will we make space for 5th grade and more students at Ridgewood? The Ridgewood campus will expand into part of the current Glenview building. Smaller elementary schools like Wells, Bowlesburg, and Hillcrest are projected to have around 250 students each, including 5th grade, with approximately two sections per grade. Another key question: How will traffic be managed with more students at Glenview and Ridgewood? Student safety is our top priority. Currently, we have approximately 1,500 students attending school at the Ridgewood and Glenview campuses. With our current projections for 26-27, we will increase to approximately 1,700 students between Ridgewood and Glenview. We are working with city officials, law enforcement, and school staff to assess traffic flow and prepare for an increase of about 200 students. Plans may include traffic pattern adjustments, additional staff supervision, more entry points, and added crossing guard support. Learn more and explore the full plan, video, and updated FAQ at: https://www.emsd37.org/page/emsd-forward-redistricting-plan We encourage you to share your thoughts and questions using our Feedback Form: https://forms.gle/4TjStNBmeh9XbuXU8

There was an error in the district newsletter that went out yesterday. Please note that the last day of school is a full day of student attendance, not a half day. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
