Early Learning Center families,
On behalf of our staff, we would like to thank all of those who attended and played a part in our Multicultural Event- Expedition: Everywhere. We enjoyed taking a trip around the world to learn about other cultures and traditions. Tomorrow, Wednesday, May 6th, is an early dismissal day. Glenview will dismiss at 10:55 am, and elementary schools will dismiss at 11:30 am. There will be no school for the Early Learning Center.
This week, we celebrated our incredible bus drivers and monitors on Bus Driver Appreciation Day! They are the first smiling faces our youngest learners see each morning, providing a safe, loving, and caring start to every school day at ELC. Ms. Linnenburger is our April Employee of the Month from the Rock Island Regional Office of Education! As a veteran educator, Ms. Linnenburger’s strength lies in the routines and genuine connections she establishes with her students and families on a daily basis. She has a clear understanding of developmentally appropriate practices, ensuring her classroom remains a balanced environment for our youngest learners.
What sets her apart is the perspective she has gained from teaching Kindergarten before returning to Early Childhood. This experience allows her to prepare students for the start to their elementary school journey while respecting their current developmental needs as a hands-on learner. The Green room enjoyed taking their very own yoga class today! Students were celebrating the end of their Human Body Study by focusing on poses and breathing exercises during their yoga lesson. Special thank you to Miss Elena's sister, Isabel, for teaching us! #GrowingThroughPlay
