Petey the Panther enjoyed a trip to Chicago with Miss Vallejo. Petey loves spreading the joy of being kind, safe, and helpful. They explored the city by going to the National Museum of Mexican Art, The DuSable Black History Museum, lots of bookstores, and ate lots of yummy food!

A few weeks ago Miss Vallejo's Class wrapped up their cameras study. Students enjoyed exploring different cameras, hearing from who uses cameras, and learning what you can do with cameras! They celebrated the end of their study by creating a photo gallery of their photos! 📸🧡💜

Did You Know? The History of Petey the Panther! 💜 🧡
When the East Moline Early Learning Center opened, our Board of Education officially chose the Little Panther mascot and our purple & orange spirit colors, connecting our students from the start to United Township High School, where they will eventually graduate as UT Panthers! Prior to this, our early childhood programs were the Wildcats at Wells Elementary. After the move, our Early Learning Center Staff held a poll to officially name him Petey. Now for the fun part: how do you suppose our staff transformed our old Wildcat mascots into our new purple little panthers?

We are celebrating our amazing Little Panthers for practicing our 3 big school wide expectations: Be Kind, Be Safe, and Be Helpful. When a student demonstrates one of these behaviors, they receive a special sticker with positive descriptive feedback explaining exactly what they did well. To celebrate their success, the student's photo is then proudly displayed in the bus hallway. Keep up the great work, Little Panthers! We love seeing our ELC students being kind, safe, and helpful!
