Early Learning Center families,
On behalf of our staff, we would like to thank all of those who attended and played a part in our Multicultural Event- Expedition: Everywhere. We enjoyed taking a trip around the world to learn about other cultures and traditions. If you could take a few minutes to fill out this quick parent survey about our most recent event, or any other event that you have attended this school year, we would greatly appreciate it. We are always looking for ways to improve and better assist our ELC families and need your feedback to do so. You can click the link below for the survey.
Thank you.

This week, we celebrated our incredible bus drivers and monitors on Bus Driver Appreciation Day! They are the first smiling faces our youngest learners see each morning, providing a safe, loving, and caring start to every school day at ELC. We are so grateful for the heart and dedication they pour into our early childhood community! #EMSD37Pride #growingthroughPLAY

Ms. Linnenburger is our April Employee of the Month from the Rock Island Regional Office of Education! As a veteran educator, Ms. Linnenburger’s strength lies in the routines and genuine connections she establishes with her students and families on a daily basis. She has a clear understanding of developmentally appropriate practices, ensuring her classroom remains a balanced environment for our youngest learners.
What sets her apart is the perspective she has gained from teaching Kindergarten before returning to Early Childhood. This experience allows her to prepare students for the start to their elementary school journey while respecting their current developmental needs as a hands-on learner. Her ability to bridge these two stages of learning has helped her students to thrive! Thank you for being an important part of our ELC School Family, Ms. L! #EMSD37Pride #growingthroughPLAY

As we begin the search for our next superintendent, your voice is essential. We’ve partnered with a professional search firm to ensure our new leader reflects the values and priorities of our staff, families, and community.
Please take a few minutes to complete our Superintendent Search Survey. Your feedback will directly shape the leadership profile used to recruit and vet candidates. Let’s work together to find a leader who shares our vision for student success!
All EMSD families and community members are encouraged to take the survey.

Behind every smooth school day is a person working tirelessly to keep all the gears turning—and for us, that person is Ms. Lindsay!
Whether she is the first friendly face you see in the morning or the caring voice on the other end of the phone, Ms. Lindsay brings happiness to our front office. Thank you, Ms. Lindsay, for everything you do to keep our school running beautifully. We could not do it without you!

Our theme for our school year is "Learning to Fly" and the 25- 26 school year has flown by! What better way to celebrate the year than to fly around the world with us?! We have so many diverse cultures within our building and we are asking for your help representing them. If you would like to have a display table during our April 30th Multicultural event, please call the front office and let us know. We are asking for 2-3 culturally appropriate items (do not bring any glass or extremely valuable items) to put on a display table for our Global Gallery.
If you are bringing items for display, please arrive at the ELC at 4:30 to set up your table. Please write the name of your country on a piece of paper or let a staff member know. Thank you for your support!

🏝️ Panther Passport: Adventures of Petey.....Spring Break in Puerto Rico! 🇵🇷
Our favorite globetrotter has officially returned! Petey the Panther is back from an incredible Spring Break trip to Puerto Rico with one of our teachers, Ms. Cardozo. Petey had a busy week soaking up the "Island of Enchantment" and representing our Little Panthers across the Caribbean!
Petey is happy to be back at school, and has brought home a suitcase full of stories! He’s officially added another stamp to his Panther Passport alongside Egypt and Mexico. ✈️
