Ms. Mikayla was recognized by the Rock Island Regional Office of Education (RIROE) for the October Employee of the Month Award at the East Moline Early Learning Center. Ms. Mikayla has been our School Nurse since 2023. Prior to coming to the East Moline School District, Mikayla served in various nursing roles in the community. From being a registered nurse and working in a hospital setting, while also working in a fast-paced clinic, she has had valuable experience in the field of nursing. Since becoming a School Nurse, Ms. Mikayla has formed positive relationships with students, families and colleagues. She is extremely thorough, detail-oriented, proactive, professional, caring, kind, and enthusiastic. She greets students each day with a smile, and goes out of her way to make sure the Nurse’s Office is a safe and welcoming place to visit when our students are not feeling their best. Ms. Mikayla has recently gone above and beyond her role as a School Nurse to support our main office staff, showing a willingness to help out wherever needed. Thank you for being an important Safekeeper in our School Family, Ms. Mikayla!
