EMSD#37 is proud to announce the opening of our new school, the East Moline Early Learning Center, for the 22-23 school year!

*Please note, session times may vary slightly depending on transportation changes.

The East Moline School District #37 is proud to announce the opening of a new Early Childhood Center, prioritizing services for young children and their families.  With the support of our Board of Education, over the past year we have been busy renovating a vacant building in East Moline to create a new learning space for early childhood.  Our vision for this innovative new space is to provide a bright, welcoming & inclusive environment, where we can expand the scope of our services and maximize our enrollment for early childhood.  Our new school, the East Moline Early Learning Center, will be an amazing new opportunity for children aged 3-5 to receive the same high-quality early childhood education that East Moline School District is known for.

Over the past thirty years, the East Moline School District’s early childhood programming has been housed at Wells Elementary School.  This will change, beginning in August 2022 for the 22-23 school year.  At that time, all early childhood programming will relocate to 3100 4th Avenue, East Moline. We recognize that this is a significant change, and we want to share with you just a few key details so we can make this transition as smooth as possible:

  1.  Transportation will continue to be provided for your child.  While the transportation department will be working on new routes to accommodate the new location, your child will still be eligible to ride the bus.  Any route/bus changes will be communicated to you after registration is completed.

  2. Early Childhood classrooms will continue to be held in half-day increments, following the EMSD#37 district calendar.

    • Morning session will be held from 9:00-11:30 a.m.

    • Afternoon session will be held from 12:30-3:00 p.m.

  3. If your child has been invited to attend our early childhood program, they will continue to be eligible.

  4. For any new students, a developmental screening is required, and can be scheduled by calling our office at 309-796-1251, ext. 157.

  5. The enrollment process has not changed; registration for returning students will begin 4/1/22.  Registration for new Early Childhood students will begin 7/18/22.

  6. New address and contact information:

    • 3100 4th Avenue, East Moline IL 61244

    • 309-865-6900 (note: this will not be a working phone number until we return from summer break in July)

We welcome you to share in our excitement as we transition our early childhood programming to this amazing new space.  Stay tuned for details prior to the start of the 22-23 school year, when we will be reviewing new dropoff procedures, enhancements to our daily schedule, and most importantly, an Open House event that will take place in early fall.  Thank you for your support and commitment to the education of young children in East Moline as we continue GROWING THROUGH PLAY.
