Wondering more about the EMSD Forward Redistricting Plan for 2026-2027? We’ve updated our FAQ with answers to some of the most common questions we’ve received from staff and families.
One question we've heard often: How will we make space for 5th grade and more students at Ridgewood?
The Ridgewood campus will expand into part of the current Glenview building. Smaller elementary schools like Wells, Bowlesburg, and Hillcrest are projected to have around 250 students each, including 5th grade, with approximately two sections per grade.
Another key question: How will traffic be managed with more students at Glenview and Ridgewood?
Student safety is our top priority. Currently, we have approximately 1,500 students attending school at the Ridgewood and Glenview campuses. With our current projections for 26-27, we will increase to approximately 1,700 students between Ridgewood and Glenview. We are working with city officials, law enforcement, and school staff to assess traffic flow and prepare for an increase of about 200 students. Plans may include traffic pattern adjustments, additional staff supervision, more entry points, and added crossing guard support.

There was an error in the district newsletter that went out yesterday. Please note that the last day of school is a full day of student attendance, not a half day.
We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Congrats and a big THANK YOU to our 2025 EMSD Retirees!

Q-tip painting was quite the quest on "q" day in 1st grade!

We look forward to meeting our incoming 5th graders and families tomorrow, May 15th!
EMSD's last day of school is Wednesday, May 28th.

Save the date!

The PTA had a great spring Ice Cream Social last week! We actually ran out of ice cream, which hasn't happened in at least 3 years! The K-Kids worked hard running the toppings. If you enjoy events like the ice cream social, we need PTA members for next year. We only have two officers for next year, and we need four. Our last PTA meeting for this year is Tuesday, May 13th from 6:00-7:00 pm in the school library. We need more people to join and volunteer for next year, or we likely won't have any events for next year. If you cannot attend in person, please join us virtually... https://meet.google.com/zti-qyzz-css
Hope you will join us! If you're unable to attend in person, please join us by Google Meet... https://meet.google.com/zti-qyzz-css

Dear Families,
This year in order to update and refresh student devices, we will be collecting Chromebooks from all students currently enrolled in Kindergarten through 4th grade.
We will begin collection on Monday, May 12th and will be collecting the device, charger and stylus. Beginning on May 12th, to help with the collection, students will no longer be able to take the devices home. During the summer, the devices will be cleaned, refreshed, repaired as needed and updated. Please be sure to send the device itself and any accessories (charger, stylus) to school on May 12th.
If your child is attending any of the programming hosted by EMSD over the summer, each program will have a set of devices that students will use during that program. If your student will not be in the district next year, please give this information to the teacher.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please contact us at 309-865-6946.
Sincerely,
EMSD Department of Technology Services
